The Fibertarian Leaderboard

We researched 96+ nutrition-world personalities and ranked each on fibertarian purity. Nobody here has ever used the word "fibertarian" — we made it up — but plenty of them are already living it.

How we scored this

A purity score from 1 to 10 based on what each person actually teaches or cooks, not what they call themselves. Higher scores go to whole-food, oil-free, no-animal-product eating; points come off for added oil, processed vegan substitutes, refined sugar, animal-product allowances, or a diet that's visibly drifted over time.

These are our own editorial judgments from researching each channel's actual content — not a claim any of these people make about themselves.

What this isn't: whole fruit has fiber — a fruit-heavy diet isn't a demerit here, it's the diet working as intended. Sodium is essential too, unlike oil or refined sugar — "low sodium" isn't a demerit either. And a person's conduct, controversies, or how much anyone likes them isn't part of the score. This ranks what's on the plate, not the person serving it.

Two more numbers where we have them: evidence strength grades how solid the science is behind a dietary pattern's actual health claims (1 = almost no research, or research that points the other way; 10 = large trials and cohorts, repeated across independent groups) — this is separate from purity, since Mediterranean eating scores low on our oil-free rule but has some of the deepest trial evidence in nutrition science. Crank index grades epistemic conduct on a 10 = clean, 1 = textbook-crank scale — persecution narratives, avoiding peer review, and treating evidence as optional are what move this number; personal conduct, controversy, or likability never do.

Reversing insulin resistance and type 1/2 diabetes via a low-fat, high-carb WFPB method.

Explicitly low-fat, oil-free, whole-food vegan. Their own "traffic light" system puts whole-grain bread, pasta, and cereal in "yellow light — not a daily staple" for blood-sugar management; intact whole grains (rice, oats, quinoa) stay unlimited.

Why this score — Strict oil-free WFPB paired with hard clinical outcome tracking (blood glucose, A1c). The whole-grain-product caution is a blood-sugar-management choice within compliant foods, not an oil/animal-product/processing demerit — full marks.

Nonprofit, volunteer-run video synthesis of nutrition research — How Not to Die, the Daily Dozen.

Advocates WFPB and oil-skepticism. Personally takes vitamin D3 and algae-based DHA supplements — beyond the B12 that's required on any vegan diet regardless of strictness.

Why this score — The D3/algae-DHA supplementation (beyond the universally-necessary B12) is the one real departure from whole-food-only eating — otherwise near-total alignment with fibertarian principles.

Crank index (10 = clean)
7/10

No commercial entanglement (NutritionFacts.org is non-commercial by design, a point in his favor) — but independent fact-checkers have flagged cherry-picked evidence and claims exceeding consensus, a real certainty-to-evidence mismatch. No persecution narrative or peer-review avoidance found.

Bryan Johnson

Project Blueprint / "Don't Die"

8/10
Lifestyle & AdvocacyWebsite / Netflix documentary

Tech entrepreneur (sold Braintree/Venmo for ~$800M) running an intensively self-tracked, medically-supervised anti-aging regimen; subject of the Netflix documentary "Don't Die: The Man Who Wants to Live Forever."

Diet is strict vegan, calorie-controlled (~1,977–2,250 kcal/day), no added salt or sugar, the same repetitive whole-food meals daily (lentils/broccoli/cauliflower/mushrooms, a nut-and-seed "pudding," vegetables at dinner) — genuinely close to this page's oil-free WFPB ideal on composition. But the assembled protocol as a whole has never been tested in a trial; individual components each draw on real literature, but experts describe the combined claims as ranging "from well-supported to wildly speculative," and it's an n=1 self-experiment run by his own 30+-doctor team, not a study anyone else can be enrolled in. Also sells a Blueprint supplement line off the back of his own results.

Why this score — The food itself is about as strict as it gets — vegan, whole-food, no added salt/sugar. What keeps this off a 10 is the dozens of daily supplement pills: a large isolated-compound stack is processed by definition, same reasoning we've applied to protein powders elsewhere on this page. Separately, he's the mirror image of Dr. Alex Wibberley's entry: Wibberley's Mediterranean diet is composition-imperfect but has the deepest RCT evidence base in nutrition science, while Johnson's diet is composition-strict but the assembled protocol's actual longevity effect rests on a sample size of one.

Crank index (10 = clean)
6/10

The PhenoAge clock's own developer has said Johnson's "reversed biological age" marketing outpaces what the measure validates — a certainty-to-evidence mismatch. He sells a supplement line whose value rests on his own unproven n=1 protocol. Notably transparent, though — extensive published biomarker data, and no persecution narrative — which keeps this out of low-score territory.

The Starch Solution — a starch-centered (rice, beans, potatoes) low-fat program for chronic disease reversal.

Oil-free, no dairy or meat, but allows added sugar and some packaged vegan convenience foods.

Why this score — Oil-free and whole-food at its core, docked for tolerating added sugar and processed convenience items.

Crank index (10 = clean)
6/10

A real MD who published and engaged mainstream institutions, so not a clean case of peer-review avoidance. But his own rhetoric about the medical establishment's "economic incentives for continued illness" and pharmaceutical companies burying findings leans conspiracy-adjacent, paired with running commercial diet programs/resorts.

Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM)

8/10
Medical & ScienceYouTube790K

Nonprofit research and advocacy org — vegan nutrition for diabetes, weight, and disease prevention, plus dietary-guidelines policy work.

Vegan and low-fat, but PCRM's own published recipe database includes recipes with actual olive/canola oil in real quantities — despite messaging that promotes oil-free cooking elsewhere.

Why this score — The gap is concrete: their own recipes aren't consistently oil-free, even though their broader messaging leans that way.

Crank index (10 = clean)
7/10

Extensively published in peer-reviewed RCTs — no peer-review avoidance. Minor certainty-to-evidence mismatch: PCRM's "cheese is as addictive as heroin" marketing overstates the casomorphin evidence, and PCRM had to retract dairy/weight-loss ad claims after an FTC-related challenge. Longstanding PETA funding while presenting as a neutral medical body is a mild disclosed-interest concern. No persecution narrative or unfalsifiability found.

FullyRaw Kristina

Cooking & RecipesYouTube1.5M

100% raw vegan — fruit- and vegetable-forward, juices and smoothies, minimal cooking.

No oil, no processed food, no animal products — whole fruit and vegetables, eaten raw. A 100%-raw approach structurally excludes legumes and whole grains (beans, lentils, oats, rice), which need cooking — both are foods this site treats as core fibertarian staples.

Why this score — The gap from the top tier is the absence of legumes and whole grains, not the fruit itself — otherwise oil-free, unprocessed, no animal products, sustained for years.

Crank index (10 = clean)
4/10

Anti-empiricism/unfalsifiability: has claimed on video and in posts that her raw diet changed her eye color from brown to blue-green, attributed to an iridologist's reading — a claim eye doctors on record say has no basis (food doesn't affect iris pigment).

Why this score — Hugely influential WFPB advocacy, delivered as a single film rather than a sustained channel.

Crank index (10 = clean)

Genuinely plant-forward, but oil use, animal-product allowances, or supplement reliance are part of the picture.

6/10
Cooking & RecipesYouTube1.1M

"Scrappy cooking" recipes and a large plant-based lifestyle brand.

Her cookbook subtitle genuinely reads "Plant-Based Oil-Free Recipes" — but her live recipe website regularly calls for olive and sesame oil (Crispy Pasta Salad, Marry Me Chickpeas, Mediterranean Bowls, and others). Oil-free is a strong theme, not a site-wide rule.

Why this score — Corrected from 8: the oil-free claim held up for the cookbook specifically, but not for the wider body of published recipes we checked directly.

Why this score — Corrected the framing: it's not that he personally holds a loose diet — he's personally strict WFPB except for oil, which he explicitly embraces; it's his patient-facing advice that's flexible.

Crank index (10 = clean)

Sauce Stache

6/10
Cooking & RecipesYouTube

Started in 2016 as a hot-sauce review channel, became known for recreating meat from plants, and has since pivoted to weight-loss content after losing 110 lbs — verified current (2025-2026) recipes are whole-food, high-fiber, high-volume: tofu scramble, lentil soup, loaded baked potatoes, a "Satiety Sponge" bowl built specifically around fiber and low calorie density.

Confirmed shift: recent content is genuinely whole-food and fiber-forward, a real change from the processed vegan-meat specialty ("Making Vegan Meat" cookbook, joked about being "a methylcellulose dealer") that used to define the channel. He's personally pescatarian, not vegan. Oil-free specifics aren't confirmed either way for the current recipes, and the channel's back catalog still includes the older processed-meat-analog content.

Why this score — High-fiber, whole-food current recipes, kept below the top tier because oil-free specifics aren't confirmed and the processed-meat-analog back catalog is still part of the channel.

Diet-wise, his content leans Mediterranean (olive oil, fish, dairy in moderation), not vegan or oil-free.

Why this score — Mediterranean-style eating (olive oil, fish, dairy in moderation) keeps this in the same tier as Ornish's looser Prevention plan — real oil and animal-product allowances, not a strict WFPB diet.

The most flexible of the medical-school cohort: the Reversal tier permits moderate egg whites/nonfat dairy, and the looser Prevention tier allows fish, chicken, nuts, avocado, and canola oil specifically (his own program materials forbid all other cooking oils).

Why this score — The egg whites, dairy, fish, chicken, and oil allowances are what keep this score down.

Crank index (10 = clean)
9/10

Core trials (Lifestyle Heart Trial, etc.) are published in top peer-reviewed journals (JAMA, Lancet, Circulation) — gold-standard peer engagement. A Scientific American critique flagged some broader nutrition claims and a commercially-tied co-author on one cited paper, but this doesn't implicate his own core trial data.

Nutrition Made Simple

5/10
Medical & ScienceYouTube353K

Science-communication channel myth-busting nutrition claims with an academic, evidence-first tone.

In interviews, he actively defends moderate use of unsaturated oils (canola, olive) against oil-free WFPB orthodoxy — a real substantive disagreement with the strict camp, not just cautious hedging.

Why this score — Corrected from 7: this is a genuine pro-oil position, not academic hedging — a bigger gap from fibertarian principles than originally scored.

Crank index (10 = clean)
10/10

His oil-tolerant position vs. oil-free orthodoxy is a normal evidence-based disagreement — he cites literature and engages critics directly (e.g., on the Sigma Nutrition podcast) — not a crank signal.

Vedge Nutrition

5/10
Lifestyle & AdvocacyInstagram / YouTube800K+ (Instagram)

Plant-based professional bodybuilder and founder of the Vedge Nutrition supplement brand.

Vedge's own marketing says he "keeps his supplements pretty basic" and prioritizes whole foods — but the actual product (pea/pumpkin/sunflower protein isolate plus gums and stevia extract) is a processed supplement regardless of that framing.

Why this score — Checked directly: the whole-food-first messaging doesn't change what the product actually is — an isolated protein powder, which is processed by nature.

Crank index (10 = clean)
10/10

Vedge's own messaging explicitly criticizes "revolutionary"/proprietary-blend supplement hype elsewhere in the industry — an unusually self-skeptical commercial stance; no crank markers found.

Lifestyle & AdvocacyYouTube618K

Vegan media outlet publishing news, documentaries, and interviews.

Broad pro-vegan advocacy journalism; covers WFPB medical figures like Esselstyn and Greger, but also processed-food industry news without an oil-free stance.

Why this score — A useful hub for finding the higher-purity figures on this list, but the outlet isn't oil-free-prescriptive.

Crank index (10 = clean)
7/10

Mostly aggregates mainstream WFPB science (Esselstyn, Greger); some opinion pieces lean on a real, documented industry-astroturfing story rather than a fabricated conspiracy.

Wicked Kitchen / Wicked Healthy

4/10
Cooking & RecipesYouTube500K

American chef who spent years as resident chef and farmer at a Tibetan Buddhist monastery, later became Director of Plant-Based Innovation at Tesco (UK) and co-founded Wicked Kitchen and Good Catch Foods.

Genuinely teaches oil-free techniques (sautéing and roasting without oil are covered directly in his cookbook) and has real whole-foods training from Whole Foods Market's prepared-foods division. But the stated house philosophy is explicitly "80% healthy and 20% wicked" — a deliberate, self-described allowance for indulgence, not a strict rule. Wicked Kitchen also sells packaged vegan ready meals at Tesco, which are processed food by nature.

Why this score — Real oil-free technique knowledge, docked for the explicitly stated 80/20 indulgence philosophy and the packaged ready-meal product line — both are self-described, not assumed.

Crank index (10 = clean)

The Wahls Protocol

4/10
Medical & ScienceYouTube22.7K

Modified-paleo protocol for autoimmune disease and multiple sclerosis — explicitly vegetable-heavy (9 cups of vegetables per day) plus organ meat.

The most vegetable-forward entry in this segment by a wide margin, though it remains meat-inclusive and excludes grains/legumes.

Why this score — Nine cups of vegetables daily is a real, substantial fiber intake — the ceiling for this segment given the diet still isn't plant-exclusive.

Evidence strength
6/10

Ran an actual randomized controlled trial (the WAVES trial, n=77, published in Multiple Sclerosis Journal — ETC, 2021) comparing her protocol against another diet for fatigue/quality-of-life in relapsing-remitting MS — real peer-reviewed clinical data, though disease-specific and modest in sample size, not a mortality/longevity study.

Crank index (10 = clean)
8/10

Clinical professor at the University of Iowa who runs funded trials and scopes her claims to fatigue/quality-of-life rather than claiming to cure MS. Minor modifier for personal-story marketing (book, branded supplement line).

Why this score — Vegan, but the diet leans on processed protein powders and supplements rather than whole foods.

Crank index (10 = clean)

The Paleo Mom → Nutrivore

4/10
Lifestyle & AdvocacyYouTube26.9K

Originally the Autoimmune Protocol (a highly restrictive, vegetable/fiber-rich elimination diet); has since rebranded entirely to "Nutrivore," a broader, non-restrictive nutrient-density framework.

The AIP phase was genuinely vegetable/fiber-rich; the newer Nutrivore framework is less restrictive and not meat-exclusive.

Why this score — Both phases of her work lean more vegetable-forward than most of this segment, without ever excluding meat.

Evidence strength
5/10

A real PhD in biomedical sciences; the Autoimmune Protocol has only small preliminary trials. Her own move away from restriction toward a less-dogmatic, better-supported framework is unusual rigor for this space.

Crank index (10 = clean)
8/10

No persecution/conspiracy framing found. Walking back a restrictive protocol as evidence warranted is a positive, non-crank signal — self-correction is exactly the opposite of what a crank does. Minor commercial modifier (books, app).

Why this score — The safe-starch/tuber allowance is a real, if modest, fiber source most paleo approaches exclude.

Evidence strength
4/10

Synthesizes the literature with more nuance than most peers here, but functional medicine as a field generally has weak trial evidence.

Regenerative-agriculture-grounded "real food" diet combining vegetables with pasture-raised meat.

Balanced — includes vegetables plus meat, not strict carnivore or paleo-exclusive.

Why this score — Genuine vegetable inclusion keeps this above the carnivore/strict-keto segment, but meat remains a standing component of the diet, which caps it below the plant-forward tiers.

Evidence strength
4/10

Her RD credential lends legitimacy, but she blends environmental/agricultural claims with nutrition claims — different evidence domains — and there's no mortality/cohort data for her specific pattern.

Genuinely produce-forward relative to most paleo content.

Why this score — Ample vegetable and fruit content keeps this above the meat-heavy end of this segment, but the diet remains meat-inclusive and excludes grains/legumes, which caps it below the plant-forward tiers.

Evidence strength
3/10

A certified nutrition consultant, not a research scientist; standard elimination-diet logic without cohort data.

The Paleo Diet (originator)

3/10
Medical & ScienceResearcher / Brand873 (brand channel; his influence runs through books and papers, not YouTube)

Coined "The Paleo Diet" (2002) — lean meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, nuts; excludes grains, legumes, dairy, and sugar.

Explicitly vegetable- and fruit-rich for a meat-inclusive diet — the least fiber-restrictive entry in this whole segment.

Why this score — Genuine vegetable and fruit emphasis pulls this above the rest of the carnivore/keto segment, but grain and legume exclusion still caps it well below the plant-based tiers.

Evidence strength
4/10

68+ peer-reviewed papers on evolutionary-nutrition theory and biomarker studies, but anthropologists dispute his core premise that Paleolithic peoples ate no grains or tubers; no mortality cohort exists for "paleo" as actually practiced.

Crank index (10 = clean)

Has a real, actively-maintained oil-free recipe category — the "uses oil" characterization overstated it. But the site's identity is built around inventive processed substitutes (cultured, fermented nut cheeses), which is a separate and independently confirmed reason to score low.

Why this score — Has a real, maintained oil-free recipe category, but the channel's identity centers on processed nut-cheese substitutes, which keeps this low.

Lean Mass Hyper-Responder (LMHR) phenomenon and the Lipid Energy Model on animal-fat-heavy keto; software engineer and self-experimenter, not a clinician.

Explicitly studies the animal-fat-heavy keto cholesterol response.

Why this score — Animal-fat-heavy keto pattern by design.

Evidence strength
5/10

The LMHR/lipid energy model is a genuinely contested, still-being-tested hypothesis, but his crowdfunded LMHR studies have reached peer-reviewed publication with cardiologist co-authors — unusual rigor for a non-clinician citizen-scientist.

Crank index (10 = clean)

Whole-food animal plus non-starchy vegetables — moderate keto, not strict carnivore.

Why this score — Includes non-starchy vegetables, but still a low-carbohydrate, low-fiber pattern overall.

Evidence strength
3/10

No specific published trial or outcome data from his own clinic was found — his standing as a 20+-year academic keto clinician is a credibility signal, not evidence data, and doesn't itself raise this score. The general keto evidence base remains contested (see the Volek/Phinney entry).

Crank index (10 = clean)

Intermittent fasting plus low-carb for insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes reversal; practicing nephrologist, author of The Obesity Code.

Moderate low-carb, not carnivore-coded; fiber intake depends heavily on individual implementation.

Why this score — Low-carbohydrate framing generally reduces fiber-rich starch/grain intake, even without being animal-product-exclusive.

Therapeutic ketogenic diet for diabetes reversal; deceased March 2022 (lung cancer), included as a historically significant figure.

Why this score — Ketogenic, low-fiber pattern by design, though narrowly scoped to diabetes reversal rather than general longevity claims.

Evidence strength
8/10

Ran an actual multi-year clinical trial with published peer-reviewed outcomes data — the strongest evidence-based credential in this segment, exceeding even Volek/Phinney's contested general-longevity evidence, because hers is direct RCT outcomes data for a narrower, better-supported claim (diabetes reversal specifically, not general longevity).

Science journalist (not a scientist or clinician) who popularized the carbohydrate-insulin hypothesis via Good Calories, Bad Calories and The Case Against Sugar.

Why this score — Advocates a low-carbohydrate pattern that generally displaces fiber-rich starches and grains.

Evidence strength

Co-founded NuSI to fund rigorous peer-reviewed testing of his own hypothesis — a pro-science instinct. But when the flagship Kevin Hall-led study refuted the hypothesis, NuSI pushed back hard on the methodology rather than accepting the result — a documented certainty-to-evidence mismatch.

Low-carbohydrate, ketogenic framing — displaces fiber-rich starches and grains by design.

Why this score — Ketogenic pattern; fiber intake is not the framework's focus.

Evidence strength
6/10

The longevity-specific evidence for keto remains genuinely contested (a cross-sectional NHANES finding of lower mortality conflicts with cohort data showing low-carb-with-animal-replacement raises mortality risk) — real credentials don't resolve a genuinely unsettled question, so this stays in "contested," not "strong."

Crank index (10 = clean)

Lifestyle & AdvocacyYouTube28.3K

"No Sugar No Grains" — describes it as close to paleo; content suggests a meat/protein-forward practical lean.

Grain exclusion by design; a core fibertarian food category is off the table entirely.

Why this score — Explicitly excludes grains and sugar, with a protein-forward practical emphasis over vegetables.

Evidence strength
2/10

No nutrition-research credentials; claims are simple heuristics without citation, including blaming obesity substantially on government grain subsidies.

Crank index (10 = clean)
4/10

The grain-subsidy framing is a mild persecution/policy-conspiracy-adjacent signal; doesn't publish or engage with peer review, and carries a strong anti-establishment tone toward conventional dietary guidelines. Commercial: paid NSNG coaching/learning platform.

Cooking & RecipesYouTube510K

"Carnivore-approved" vegan comfort food and junk-food remakes.

Heavy oil, vegan meat/cheese substitutes, fried foods, and sugar are the whole premise.

Why this score — Built explicitly around indulgent comfort-food remakes — proudly the opposite of fibertarian.

Crank index (10 = clean)
10/10

No clinical claims made, no crank signal present; recipe/comedy content, activism framed around animals, not disease claims.

Carnivore neurosurgery resident

1/10
Medical & ScienceYouTube~530K

Carnivore diet as evolutionarily "optimal"; ketogenic/metabolic framing extended to cancer.

All-animal-product diet; zero plant fiber.

Why this score — Strict carnivore composition.

Evidence strength
2/10

No identified peer-reviewed carnivore-specific publications; cancer claims lean on small ketogenic (not carnivore) studies and mechanistic speculation rather than trial data.

Crank index (10 = clean)
3/10

A video titled "Why Doctors HATE The Carnivore Diet" is direct persecution framing. Certainty-to-evidence mismatch on cancer claims. Commercial coaching/consulting via his site and Patreon.

Proper Human Diet

1/10
Medical & ScienceYouTube~3.7M

Low-carb/carnivore-adjacent "Proper Human Diet"; board-certified family physician.

Animal-fat-heavy; minimal plant/fiber content.

Why this score — Animal-product-heavy diet by design.

Evidence strength
2/10

Real MD, but functions mainly as a communicator/synthesizer rather than a bench researcher; cites studies selectively.

Crank index (10 = clean)
3/10

Authored a book titled "Lies My Doctor Told Me" and content headlined "Big Pharma Fights Back" — persecution/adversarial framing toward mainstream medicine. Monetizes via a paid community, an "Insider" tier, and a branded supplement bundle.

Carnivore MD-adjacent orthopedic surgeon, co-founder of Revero

1/10
Medical & ScienceYouTube~387K

Zero-carb/carnivore diet for chronic disease reversal, athletic performance, and "results."

Zero-fiber by definition — an all-meat/zero-plant diet.

Why this score — Animal products only; the diet excludes every fiber source by design.

Evidence strength
2/10

No controlled trials of his own; the main carnivore "cohort" is a 2,029-person self-reported survey with no control group.

Crank index (10 = clean)
2/10

On record: "I'm interested in results... just because we don't understand everything about how something works" — explicit anti-empiricism, deprioritizing mechanism/evidence outright. Runs a commercial carnivore clinic (Revero).

Cooking & RecipesYouTube

Weight-gain and weight-maintenance-focused vegan recipes for curvy women.

Explicitly calorie-dense, indulgent-leaning recipes designed to add pounds.

Why this score — The stated philosophy is the direct opposite of low-fat, fiber-first eating.

Crank index (10 = clean)
10/10

No clinical claims made, no crank signal present — her site explicitly states she'll never claim a food or diet can "cure" a serious disease.

Nutrition with Judy / Carnivore Cure

1/10
Lifestyle & AdvocacyYouTube~154K

"Carnivore Cure" elimination protocol claimed to heal autoimmune and gut conditions.

Elimination-style all-animal-product protocol.

Why this score — Zero-fiber elimination diet by design.

Evidence strength
1/10

Certified nutritional therapy practitioner, not MD/RDN; no peer-reviewed publications found.

Crank index (10 = clean)
4/10

No explicit conspiracy framing found. Sells the "Carnivore Cure" book and runs paid, individualized coaching directly off her own elimination-diet claims — the same direct client-by-client commercial entanglement as Kelly Hogan's coaching model.

MyZeroCarbLife

Lifestyle & AdvocacyYouTube

14 years zero-carb/carnivore, credited with resolving obesity, fertility issues, and chronic dieting.

Zero-carb, all-animal-product diet.

Why this score — Strict zero-carb composition; no fiber source in the diet.

Evidence strength
1/10

Pure personal testimony/community-moderator content, no research claims made.

Crank index (10 = clean)
4/10

No conspiracy or persecution rhetoric found. Sells paid, individualized "Carnivore Coaching" (custom meal plans, recurring sessions) directly off her own personal-results claims — a more direct commercial-entanglement than a branded product line, since each client is sold on the same unproven claim personally.

Ancestral "9 tenets," raw organ meat

1/10
Lifestyle & AdvocacyYouTube / Instagram / TikTok~250K (YouTube; larger on Instagram/TikTok)

Raw organ meat and "ancestral living" claimed to build his physique and health naturally.

All-animal-product regimen (raw liver, bull testicles, other organs) — zero fiber.

Why this score — Strict animal-product diet by design.

Evidence strength
1/10

No research base of any kind — pure personal-brand testimony.

Crank index (10 = clean)
2/10

Lied for years that his physique was entirely natural; admitted to $11,000/month in steroid use only after leaked emails surfaced. Faced a $25M class-action suit for deceptive marketing of his Ancestral Supplements. Later renounced his own carnivore/ancestral claims in a 2025 Netflix documentary. The bottom-anchor case for this whole index.

All-meat "Lion Diet," credited with putting her autoimmune disease, depression, and chronic fatigue into remission.

Beef, salt, and water only — the strictest possible zero-fiber composition.

Why this score — Literally nothing but animal product and water.

Evidence strength
1/10

Purely n=1 testimony; no studies of the "Lion Diet" specifically exist.

Crank index (10 = clean)
3/10

Documented persecution narrative: after TEDx declined to publish her carnivore talk, she and her father (Jordan Peterson) publicly framed this as institutional suppression rather than an editorial decision, and posted the rejected talk to YouTube herself.

Paul Saladino, MD

Carnivore MD / Animal-Based

1/10
Medical & ScienceYouTube~1.2M

"Animal-based" diet (organ meat, ruminant meat, fruit, honey) — moderated from strict carnivore; anti-seed-oil advocacy.

Meat-heavy with some fruit — minimal fiber relative to any plant-forward diet.

Why this score — Overwhelmingly animal-product-based; the fruit/honey allowance doesn't change the core composition.

Evidence strength
2/10

No dedicated trial/cohort evidence for his pattern; critics document cherry-picked studies (e.g., the Minnesota Coronary Experiment's ~75% dropout rate) used to support seed-oil claims.

Crank index (10 = clean)
3/10

Markets content as what "Big Food and Pharma won't tell you" — a persecution-narrative signal — and publicly discredits epidemiology as a category, an anti-empiricism signal. Board-certified in psychiatry, no nutrition-research record. Founded Heart & Soil organ-meat supplements, reported to have grown from $0 to $50M+ in three years.

Keto Savage

1/10
Lifestyle & AdvocacyYouTube~34K

Natural pro bodybuilder competing and building muscle on keto/carnivore without carbs.

Very low-carb, animal-product-heavy; framed around athletic performance rather than disease claims.

Why this score — Minimal-to-no fiber intake by design.

Evidence strength
2/10

Framed around personal athletic performance, not disease claims — a narrower and less evidentially-reaching claim than most peers here.

Crank index (10 = clean)
6/10

No persecution/anti-empiricism rhetoric found. Sells a branded product line (Keto Brick) rather than individualized coaching sold directly off personal health claims — a step removed from Hogan's or Cho's model, which is why this scores higher than most carnivore peers.

Evidence strength
1/10

Personal testimony only; no research base.

Crank index (10 = clean)
5/10

No conspiracy or persecution rhetoric identified. Monetized via Patreon and brand sponsorships rather than individualized coaching sold off her own claims — a step removed from Hogan's or Cho's direct client-by-client model, though still tied to her personal-results narrative.

Raw-meat-only diet

1/10
DefunctLifestyle & AdvocacyYouTube (repeatedly banned/re-created)~110K (largely defunct account)

Raw-meat-only diet, extending into claims that vegetables are harmful and water is "toxic."

Raw animal product exclusively — the most extreme end of the spectrum.

Why this score — Zero plant food of any kind by design.

Evidence strength
1/10

No research base; pure self-experimentation and assertion.

Crank index (10 = clean)
1/10

About as textbook-crank as it gets: explicit conspiracy framing (vegetables and mainstream science as deliberate deception) plus flat-earth-adjacent anti-empiricism, and platform bans specifically for this content. (Separate, unrelated allegations of serious misconduct circulate but couldn't be verified through reliable journalism, so they're not factored into this score.)

1/10
Lifestyle & AdvocacyYouTube500K–2M (varies by source)

Former raw-vegan lifestyle influencer.

Publicly abandoned veganism in 2019 after being caught eating fish, later confirmed eating eggs and fish for health reasons — the "#fishvana" controversy.

Why this score — No longer vegan; the textbook case of public diet drift, included as a cautionary data point.

Crank index (10 = clean)
3/10

The in-scope exception to the conduct-doesn't-count rule: she repeatedly and publicly denied eating fish/eggs before admitting it — a direct claim-vs-reality falsification of her own stated facts, not mere personality.
